This poem also appears in my 2012 single-author anthology Almost there: poems.  It was originally published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association site in March 2002.

**One of my mainstream stories, Seasons by the sea, was published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Associate site

One of my mainstream stories, Seasons by the sea, was published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association website.  It will run on the site from April to June 2014.

Seasons - a mood piece largely based on a dream I had, structured (and otherwise influenced) by Eric Rohmer's 1970 film Claire's Knee and actor Bruno Ganz's work - is about an American expatriate visiting a secluded European town to recover from a hellacious divorce and his subsequent quiet, midlife salvation.

**Two of my erotic poems were published on the Pink Litter site

Two of my erotic poems - Kyoto: chican and Worlds shown, worlds to come - were published on the Pink Litter site. (Big thanks to Misty Rampart, who published it!)

Kyoto: chican sketches a carnal transaction between a school girl-outfitted woman and her client in a Japanese subway-themed club.

Worlds shown, worlds to come is a four-part poem that charts the emotional and sexual journey of a longtime punk couple, from youth to middle age.

Please note that Pink Litter is an adults-only site, so if you're under the age of eighteen you may want to skip these works.

However, if you are a legal adult who appreciates (post)punky attitude, sensuality and poetry, check these poems out!

#

Quick publishing history:

Kyoto: chican was originally published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association site in November 2012.

The second section of Worlds shown. .., titled Worlds to come (terra incognito), and its third section - Our world, pink & black - were also originally published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association site in September 2001.

Our world, pink & black was republished on the now-defunct widegrrl.net site in February 2002.

**Two of my short sex-pulp works were published last week

The Amoses: Molly and Chris was published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association [ERWA] site, by-lined under the name Nikki Isaak. It will appear on the site through March 2013.

The Amoses incorporates a previously published microstory, Lithe undead (ERWA/October 2002), and, in loose link fashion, tells the offbeat tale of a death-resurrected woman, her scientist husband, a blackmailing IRS agent, and a famous horror movie house.

Corporate Roach Facility, 1999 – c**krocked was published in issue #5 of the online magazine, Pink Litter.

Corporate is a Sapphic fluff piece with darkish overtones, involving a scientist, a security guard, hentai, BDSM and an insectile soundtrack.

** Three of my poems were published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association site

Three of my explicitly sexual poems – Kikkoman, Kyoto: chican and end of daze tense – were published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association. (After clicking on the link, scroll past the top three poems by other authors and you’ll see my pieces.)

Be sure to (also) check out the first poem on the page - John Eivaz's vivid, thoughtful A Sometimes Belligerent Prosody.   (Eivaz is the author of the mainstream poetry chapbook Remainder of a Thursday Afternoon, available at Lulu.)

These poems will be published on the site until November 29, 2012.

**Two of my works - a poem and a microstory - were recently published

1.)  “baise moi: San Francisco”: This trashy poem about two road-tripping, homicidal lesbian wrestlers appeared in the fourth issue of Pink Litter. It is, as you probably guessed, a “for mature readers only” read.

I’m also thrilled that, in this fourth issue, I’m sharing space with two writing friends, whose works consistently wow me – Richard Cody, who penned another sweet, brief  poem (“I enter”) and Peter Baltensperger, who authored the sensual, balance-themed microstory “For the Sake of Symmetry”.

2.)   Jailhouse sleepover”:  This 58-word microstory tells the tale of two bloodthirsty, lusty clowns who get thrown in the clink.  Again, this is a “for mature readers only” read.
"Jailhouse sleepover" will appear on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association (ERWA) site until October 30, 2012.

**One of my stories, Lascaux, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site

One of my older stories, Lascaux, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site.

The story, which details the beginning of a heartfelt but otherwise questionable affair between two anthropologists, was originally published under the title Global, dangerous, on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association site in July 2009. This newer, retitled version has been expanded from its original form.

**One of my stories, Frostbite the ice pimp, was published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association website

Horror/sex/violence readers: one of my longer, for-mature-audiences stories, Frostbite the ice pimp, will be published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association site until March 30, 2012.

While this blaxploitation-meets-a-violent-holiday-TV-special tale has brief, explicit sex and brutal action elements, it’s more of a "hard" R-rated read, with lots of well-developed characters.

This 6,657-word story, credited to the fictional Chuck Lovepoe, sports influences from Robert Beck (aka Iceberg Slim), Romeo Muller (who created Frosty the Snowman and other TV specials) and Robert Devereaux.

**One of my stories, Blasphēmos gamisia, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site

One of my older – and odder – erotica stories, BlasphÄ“mos gamisia, about playing cards, royal intrigue and bizarre infidelity, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site.

This story was originally published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association (ERWA) website in October 2009; it was later included on ERWA’s “Treasure Chest” page in January 2010.

Blasphēmos gamisia was later republished in my anthology, Charge of the scarlet b-sides: microsex stories & poems (available at Lulu.com).

**One of my stories, Splatterdays, was published in the Best Gay Romance 2012 anthology

I just received two copies of the Richard Labonté-edited anthology, Best Gay Romance 2012, which contains one of my stories, Splatterdays. (Splatterdays is about two guys who fall in love at a thrash metal concert.)

Not only am I thrilled to see this story published (and get paid for it), I'm also thrilled to be sharing anthology space with C.C. Williams, whose distinctive work I've continually admired since I read it in the Erotica Readers & Writers Association online writing group! (C.C.'s excellent, tender story is called The Prisoner.)

This anthology is scheduled for January 17, 2012 publication, for those readers who are inclined towards the erotica genre, and arent' (strictly) hetero in their reading habits.

Here (again) is the home site for the anthology, which can also be purchased at Amazon.com.

**One of my stories, The Woman on the Grass, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site

One of my older stories, The Woman on the Grass, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site.

This story was originally published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association website in December 2001 (and later in my anthology Charge of the scarlet b-sides: microsex stories & poems, available through Lulu.com) – Woman is a romantic “strangers in the night” homage to the works of Anaïs Nin.

Check it out, and leave a star rating/comment, if you’re so inclined, and have the time. =)

**One of my stories, Trust, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site

Trust, a noir-nasty sex tale inspired by the work of Jim Thompson, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site.

Trust was originally published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association site in June 2001, under the nom de plume “Qi Fear”. It was later republished under my real name in my 2010 anthology Charge of the scarlet b-sides: microsex stories & poems.

**One of my erotica stories, Asia’s seasons, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site

One of my older microfiction-quadrilogy stories, Asia's seasons, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site. It was originally published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Assocation site, May - June 2003.

This sex-heavy, fast-moving, prose-poetic work is about a couple who engage in sexual experimentation, and learn their practical limits – as individuals, and as a couple.

This story also appears in my erotica story/poem antho, Charge of the scarlet b-sides: microsex stories & poems.

Check the story and/or the book out, if you’re so inclined and have the time. =)

**One of my microstories, Evie, was published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association site

One of my more somber 200-word stories, Evie, will be published on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association website for the entire month of November.

While this R-rated, disturbing microstory, which explores childhood memories, death, emerging sexuality and hope, has brief carnal references in it, it isn’t what I, or most people, would call “erotica” – it reads more like a dark mature drama.

If this sounds like something that might interest you, check it out. =)

**One of my mainstream-ish stories, Night Burn, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site

One of my brutal, mainstream-ish vampire stories, Night Burn, was republished on the Every Night Erotica site. (It was originally published, in a less developed and shorter form, on the Erotica Readers & Writers Association site in November 2001.)

This 1,984-word story has a brief spot of sex, but it could easily be republished, as is, in any mainstream horror magazine.

Night Burn is not recommended for Stephenie Meyer/Twilight fans. (You were warned, gay boys and sparkly-eyed girls!)

Theobromine bitch blues

By Steve Isaak

Our clock starts ticking the second she arrives “but not this time,” Megan says, her collie features radiant.

Megan strips off her slinky dress, her Lassie-light head a color-perfect blend with her lush human body.

Megan laughs. “My husband, Mr. Eddie Pitbull, was always sniffing, drooling over chocolate that can kill us, and I. . . indulged his curiosity. That son of a bitch is as cold as that bucketed champagne. The money – everything – is ours!”

I go cold, thinking back to a fellow waiter’s warning when he first saw me ogling Megan, three months ago. “Watch out. She’s more than she seems.”

Megan laughs again. “Relax, you know I always get what I want. Now mount me.”

I can’t run – not without telling her that I'm leaving her.

# # #

I wake, sweaty and sex-sticky, to a strange, disturbing noise – something like a thump, mixed with a bone crack.

A short, bulky shadow stands over Megan’s side of the bed, something long and blunt in his hand. Warm liquid, from the area of Megan’s moonlit, bashed-in head, rills onto my side of the bed.

My beat-acelerated heart leaps into my atrabilious throat, and I start to rise; that’s when I sense another, shit-reeking shadow on my side of the bed, and something hard smashes onto the side of my face, knocking me into dark, throbbing sleep.

# # #

“Love can be a bone-splintering thing, my dachshund friend,” the shit-breathed pug thug says, as he snaps my other arm. My nerve-endings are white-hot electric, my yelps bouncing off warehouse walls.

“Mr. Pitbull told me to tell you ‘good try,’ that this is his ‘final tip’ to you,” the pug chuckles. His breath makes my gorge rise.

Nearby, another pug thug chops up Megan’s bloody body, readied for the incinerator, our final laying place.

Isaak’s Fables: the indignant whale, beauty & justice

By Steve Isaak

Wilma, a middle-aged mother of four-year old twins, watched as her shrieking sons darted in front of other shoppers. They were outside, exiting a crowded megastore.

One of the shoppers, a beautiful blonde with prismatic blue eyes and an equally striking figure – better than the one Wilma had possessed, before booze, kids, depression and couch-living had claimed it – grimaced at Wilma, from three feet away.

Other shoppers muttered as Wilma shrilled at her children: “Clint! George Doub-ya!”

Her children ignored their 290-pound mother, kept "wehhrnn"-airplaning, their arms stuck straight out, in front of ticked-off shoppers.

The twenty-something blonde reminded Wilma of a high school classmate, Cheryl, who’d stolen Wilma’s husband, Earl.

Wilma’s cheeks blazed.

Wilma glared, shrilled at the Cheryl Look-Alike. “Watch where you’re walking, you cross-wearing, hypocritical slut! Those are my kids!”

The screech of braking tires on asphalt was heard – then a woman’s scream.

Clint and George W., who’d dashed across the parking lot pedestrian lane, lay in front of a mini van: blood puddles beneath their flaxen heads.

“Good thing you were paying attention to your kids,” sneered another shopper, shoving Wilma hard in the back.
